Demo Days in France and Portugal!

SmartVitiNet celebrated the three day Demo Day in Toulouse, Parada, and Mafra from the 3rd of July to the 5th of July! These intense but fruitful- the team was met by the local wine makers to showcase SmartVitiNet’s technology and promote the competence centre.
Demo Day in Toulouse, France!
The three day demo day kick started on the 3rd of July in Toulouse. Happening in the beautiful vineyard Domaine du Moulin Hirissou, the technical partners demonstrate the drone flying across the beautiful vineyard, collecting data that could be uploaded on the training portal where combining with satellite, the wine makers are able to identify the areas that are prone to suffer from water stress and even diseases.
Besides the drone demonstration, the partner also introduced the Competence Centre and encouraged the local winemakers to sign up and learn more about precision viticulture and funding opportunities.
The event ended with delicious wine tasting with a light lunch, and we are ready to travel to Portugal for the next two Demo Days!
Demo Days in Parada and Mafra, Portugal!
After the successful completion of the French Demo Day, the partners traveled to Parada, the northern part of Portugal, to get ready for the second day of the Demo Day!
On the 4th of July, the partners woke up early and started getting ready for the Demo Day in Parada. Welcoming the local wine makers, the host Casa do JOA took the participants around the winery for a tour.
The Demo Day in Parada not only allowed SmartVitiNet to present our project and our technology, but the team also got to hear the feedback and sentiment from the winemakers. Interesting discussions surrounding the usability and practicality of the technology. Not only winemakers, we also welcomed a researcher who has been doing research on precision agriculture with drone technology with olive farms. It was very interesting to have a fresh perspective, as the aim of SmartVitiNet is to transform the viticulture, but ultimately, to transform the agricultural sector!
After the insightful Demo Day in Parada, the partners went to Mafra and prepared for the last day of the Demo Days!
Feeling excited, and refreshed, the team is ready to complete the last day of Demo Day in Mafra in Ramilo Wines! In this beautiful vineyard, the technical partners demonstrate the drone flights to the local winemakers and professors. Interesting discussion strikes and the participants are very interested in the Competence Centre, eager to learn more about how drones and precision viticulture can be efficiently implemented in the vineyard.
The three day Demo Days in France and Portugal is a great success! Without a doubt, connecting with local wine makers, researchers, and academia, are extremely important. It brings the team closer to the end users. What they say is true: wine is not just a beverage, but a complex expression of culture, history, and nature!
